Dreaming of Decor

The house project is plugging along and our completion date is in less than two months. Unless we want a great but empty home, It's time to get going on ordering a few furnishings.

I love the modern and a little bit bohemian look to this living room, by Tia Zoldan in her own home. It is layered, casual and comfortable, easy not forced. But why is it never really that easy to do?

Dining Inspiration

I'd love a comfortably casual dining room like this...with an antique farm house table (this one is a tasting table from a Martinique rum factory), pendant lantern and an eclectic pairing of chairs, beach bamboo with tailered upholstered ones (but with no fabric or child friendly material).

We have original 1930s oak floors that will be stained a walnut color but if I ever were to have tile in a home I'd have to consider this classic travertine in Walnut from walkerzanger.com.

Kitchen Dissection

Apparently tons of people out there are enamoured with this kitchen from Something's Gotta Give. I've seen it referenced on several design blogs recently even though that movie came out several years ago. I found this 'How to' on this very kitchen on a All Things Blue. How timely.

I just wish I knew that paint color...

Kitchen Love

I've always adored this kitchen from the fabulous house in 'Something's Gotta Give'. Inspired by this kitchen we have included white painted cabinetry, honed black granite and white subway tile backsplash in our plans.

We selected our granite slabs today which is making it all start to feel real.
